Sarana is working on a project called Junebug I.F.C.A ( Initiative For Creative Action), a local non profit promoting self reliance, sustainability, and the arts as forms of activism, and pathways to social change. JuneBug I.F.C.A is a grassroots organization dedicated to strengthening urban communities and uniting individuals who reside within them. We are aiming to expand the reach of sustainable, holistic living practices and believe in art as a form of activism. We reject modes of thinking which encourage non action or violence, but instead encourage action from the inside out. Our mission: To strengthen and unite communities through environmental education and multicultural arts initiatives. Our vision: Empowered communities working collectively to make sustainable informed choices. Our goal is to inspire our next generation of artists, activists, leaders, and healers.

We use creative expression, and immersion in nature as platforms for realizing our vision. In addition to programs lead by our own artists, activists, and teachers, IFCA will host others to facilitate workshops, and open up dialogue about -what our current social issues are and how we can work to change them from the individual and communal stand point. We focus on current social issues in our communities to examine how they reflect larger national or international issues. We examine parallels between current events, the state of our communities, and history to ask who or what is shaping the world we live in today for better or worse, and what can we learn from this as we move forward..
