Sarana is a professionally trained doula and herbalist. Her interest in herbs and healing are in their potential to be a pathway to self empowerment, sustainable living, and ultimately social change. She see herbs, natural living, the arts, and activism as parts of the same whole. Sarana is passionate about informed choices for parents and is a strong advocate of home birth and midwifery care for woman and babies. She has used herbal medicine for herself throughout all stages of motherhood, including pregnancy. She has also skillfully used herbs with all of her "sad bellied babies", and for childhood ailments. Thus, eliminating the need for antibiotics, tylenol or mylicon. Sarana fuses her knowledge and learning with her life experiences to offer her wisdom in healing and herbal medicine. She has a hands on style which encourages clients to become involved and proactive in their own healing. To expand her service to woman and families, Sarana decided to become a Doula, and CCE. She completed her Doula training in April 2008. Sarana lives in Madison with her husband and children.
